
Chief Executive Officer
Mark continues the Taylor Family’s multi-generational commitment to helping struggling readers achieve reading proficiency. Since 2002, Mark has directed the redevelopment of Reading Plus® core products and has successfully guided the company through a corporate renaissance. Prior to joining Reading Plus®, Mark served as president of Frogeyes Studio (now Tag New Media), a digital design and communications company. Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Cornell University and a master’s degree in philosophy from McGill University.

Chief Operating Officer
Kelly joined Reading Plus® in 2009, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience building corporate operational and organizational infrastructures that facilitate rapid growth. In addition to directing day-to-day operating activities at Reading Plus®, she manages the general administration of the financial, human resources, and order fulfillment departments, and oversees technical support. She previously held senior management positions at Reel.com, Pets.com, and Allposters.com. Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Education from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, VT. She taught middle and high school English in New Hampshire, where she received a "Teacher of the Year" honor.

Chief Academic Officer
Karen’s depth of knowledge about literacy was acquired during her two decades of experience in the education field. Prior to joining Reading Plus® in 2006, she was a classroom teacher, reading specialist, school director, and education consultant. Karen is a frequent presenter at reading conferences, and she continues to conduct research and publish papers on numerous topics related to literacy instruction. Karen has a bachelor’s degree in elementary and gifted education, a master’s degree in reading and learning disabilities, and a specialist degree in reading and varying exceptionalities.

Director of Product Development
Alex manages and coordinates all product development for Reading Plus®, directing the people and processes that enhance the Reading Plus® system. Before joining the company in 1997, Alex was an educator in Switzerland, where she held positions as a classroom teacher, music teacher, skiing teacher, volleyball coach, and educational committee board member. She has a bachelor’s degree in education from Cantonal Teacher's Training College in Lucerne, Switzerland, and also has a master’s degree in teaching English as a second and foreign language from St. Michael's College in Winooski, VT. Alex is currently working toward a doctoral degree in instructional design for online learning. She is writing her dissertation on the effects of electronic text presentation formats on silent reading fluency and proficiency development.

Director of Sales
Karl joined the Reading Plus® team as National Sales Director in 2004. In addition to managing the company’s sales force, Karl is a co-developer of corporate marketing and advertising campaigns, and a frequent presenter at seminars and conferences. He travels extensively on behalf of the company, sharing the Reading Plus® story and corporate mission with educators from coast to coast. Karl began his career as a chemist for DuPont. He worked as an engineering manager for Digital Equipment Computer (DEC) in Burlington, VT, and later was the Director of Process Improvement for Central Vermont Public Service.

Chief Information Officer
Rick manages the development and maintenance of business systems and infrastructure at Reading Plus®. He joins the Reading Plus team with a strong focus on technology and project management. The past decade has seen Rick develop and launch an impressive list of online applications for Bank of America, Honda, and Northwestern Mutual, among others. Formerly the CIO at New York-based LiveTechnology, Rick's experience includes teaching web development and networking at Champlain College in Burlington. Rick holds a bachelor of science degree from Brown University and is a member of the Project Management Institute.
