Assessments
Reading is a complex process that involves close interaction among visual, perceptual, and cognitive functions. Reading Plus® assessments identify visual and perceptual skill inefficiencies that can impede silent reading development, and determine individualized instructional paths.

RPA: Reading Placement Appraisal™
RPA™ is designed to assess students’ independent silent reading ability by dynamically adjusting the rate of presentation of varying leveled text selections while assessing comprehension skills. This unique assessment quickly and accurately determines the following for each student:
  • independent silent reading level
  • vocabulary readiness level
  • appropriate instruction path and starting level

The Visagraph® Silent Reading Assessment
Visagraph® provides detailed measures of each student's silent reading behavior in comparison to grade-appropriate normative data.  Teachers use the Visagraph® to provide clear and accurate measures of the response to Reading Plus® intervention over the course of the implementation. Data collected with the Visagraph® provides teachers with unique insight into each student's silent reading behavior, revealing what may be hindering independent reading development.

Teacher and student silent reading inventories provide additional screening measures to aid in the identification of students with severe visual skill deficiencies.

“Reading Plus has been an excellent reading intervention for our students and it was easy to implement. The reading skill sets were spot on and the diagnostic reports helped us analyze progress.”
