Visagraph® Silent Reading Assessment
The Visagraph®, an eye-movement recording device, is the result of more than 80 years of foundational studies in conjunction with leading reading research. Data collected with the Visagraph® provides unique insight into each student’s silent reading behavior, revealing what may be hindering independent reading development.

Assess the Unseen And Unheard
Skills of Lower-Tier Students
  • Detects visual, perceptual, and information processing deficiencies that hinder reading development
  • Helps identify instructional modifications of the Reading Plus® system
  • Motivates students by providing visual representations of “how” they read
  • Tracks students’ interim progress and overall achievement of reading goals within Reading Plus®

Normative Tests and Data

The Visagraph® provides students with 73 selections on elementary, secondary, and post-secondary reading levels. Selections were used in a landmark Norm Study with 12,000 students (ranging from grade 1 through college) to establish reading efficiency normative data.

Tests for Non-Readers

For non-readers, a numbers tracking test and a visual skills test can be administered to determine adequacy of visual/functional skills.

Integrated with Reading Plus®

Although the Visagraph® functions independently from Reading Plus®, Visagraph® users can take full advantage of the integration between the eye-movement recording device and the Reading Plus® instructional programs.

“The Visagraph is such a valuable tool in my college reading class. I use it as a pre- and post-assessment of the students' silent reading ability. Not only does it track student reading gains for me, but for the students it starts to demystify their reading struggles for them and then completely validates their progress and change at the end of the semester. This is powerful information.”
